ONE
Martial arts, be it Taekwon-Do, Karate, Aikido or Hapkido, ultimate aim is to achieve oneness, unification of body, mind and spirit.
When instructing beginners, we always tell them to stand a proper stance, show them a good posture, and remind them of sound breathing and every other principal. All these are performed simultaneously to form a technique.
Techniques involve only one motion, i.e. the motion that is the technique. Suggesting that existence of many parts of any technique merely creates artificial distinctions within a singularity. For example, proper stance cannot exist without good posture which also comes with sound breathing, vice versa.
After years of patience and continual practice, students will be able to merge the many different parts of a technique into a single technique.
To reach the goal of oneness wholly, one must make no distinction between self and the technique, and extend to opponent where your technique is my technique. Unify the parts of a technique achieve certain power, unify themselves with their technique achieve even more. To a greater extend, one seek to unify with the nature, the universe.
